We are happy to launch our new series of print magazines with an open call!
We invite texts that explore “sensing bodies” from a diversity of situated perspectives.
Your text might explore porous, leaky, sensuous bodies, somatic rituals, thinking through the body, the landscape of your skin, a particular healing practice, the movements of hands talking to each other…
We envision this issue as a constellation of texts attuned to questions such as: How do particular bodies sense? Which senses emerge from sensing with/in the body? How can sense be made – or unmade – through shared bodily practices?
Contributions may draw from writing practices across the fields of poetry, art and performance writing, literature, critical thinking... Experimental and hybrid textforms are welcome.
Due to our editorial capacities, submissions should have a recognisable basis in English, French, German and/or any combination of these languages.
Guidelines:
– Maximum length: 6 A5 pages or 5,000 characters (including spaces)
– One submission per person
– Submitted texts must be previously unpublished
– For anonymous review, please include your name only on the first page of the document
All selected contributions will be edited in close dialogue with the authors. The final selection will be made by the DEARS editorial team.
Please send your text as a Word or PDF document until 01.09. 2025 per email: write@dears.ch
We plan a release of the publication in Winter 2025/2026.
