AUTUMN-WINTER 2026/27 UNRULY VOICES

with texts by Giulia Ottavia Frattini, Suvani Suri, Leanne Ellul, Aranya Padil, Maithili Bavkar, Alice Speller, Swantje Lichtenstein, Joseph Conwa, Debarati Bhattacharya, Shilpa Nagaraj, Robin Vaughan-Williams, Suzain Shabir. The authors are based in South Asia and Europe.

How can voice(s) speak through us and with others? How can we think about the absence of voice? To what extent is the voice thus understood also shaped by politics, aesthetics, and ethics? How can the voice (or voices) be understood to have the capacity to unsettle power structures?

The selected texts span a wide range of forms, themes, and approaches: writing against occupation, texts about onomatopoeia and screams, reflections and ruminations on the nature of voice, from the disembodied to the conditional, satire about laws and thoughts on bats. They form a strong and ecclectic ensemble that allows for connections to appear and to think about the voice and its potential to connect and disrupt in a myriad of ways.
